The year 2025 at RKC Dojo has been a journey marked by both remarkable achievements and unexpected obstacles. As we look back, it’s clear that every experience, whether a success or a setback, has shaped our community and strengthened our commitment to growth. Rene  van AMERSFOORT Sensei from the Netherlands is a Kyoshi 8th Dan in Jodo, Kyoshi 7th dan in Iaido and 4th dan in Kendo!  He will be visiting Johannesburg, South Africa from 11-17 February 2026.

On Sunday, 30 November 2025, the Parkhurst Recreation Centre in Johannesburg became the battleground for young kendo warriors from across the nation to meet at the 2025 Junior National Kendo Championships

Our annual event, "The RYU KEN CHAMPIONSHIPS - Summer 2025 Edition", will be held on Saturday, 18 October 2025 at the Rivonia Sports Club.

The RKC Dojo subscribes to and fully endorses, The Guardian's Safeguarding program. This program is to ensure the safety and safeguarding of all our dojo members.

Members of the RKC Dojo Jodo and Iaido members will represent South Africa at the forthcoming 2025 European Jodo Championships (EJC) and 2025 European Iaido Championships (EIC),

On 6 September 2025, we will host our 10-year dojo celebration gala! Bedsides the celebration, it will also be a fundraiser for an exciting new initiative that we will announce at the event!

James MILLER sempai, Kendoka, Iaidoka, and Jodoka at the RKC Dojo passed away on Friday, 23 May 2025, after a short but fierce battle with cancer.

The 2025 Winter Championship is our annual, internal competition that is open only to RKC Dojo members. This year it will be held on 28 June 2025 (Saturday) at the Rivonia Sports Club.

The RYU KEN CHAMPIONSHIPS - Summer 2024 Edition, will be held on Saturday, 2 November 2024

The 2024 RKC's "ONNA-MUSHA OPEN" is an open championship competition that will be open to all female kendo members who are 14 and older

The 5 types of students which corresponds to their training commitments - the "5 C's of Training Commitment"

The RKC Dojo held a successful Kendo kyu grading on 22 June 2024, with all 28 candidates passing their respective grade!

The RKC Kendo Kids competitions, produced some exhilarating Kendo moments that heated up the Rivonia Sports Club!
