2025 European Jodo and Iaido Championships

Members of the RKC Dojo Jodo and Iaido members will represent South Africa at the forthcoming 2025 European Jodo Championships (EJC) and 2025 European Iaido Championships (EIC),
This year, the 23rd EJC will take place in Zielona Góra, Poland from 26th - 28th September 2025. More details of this event can be found at this website: https://ejc2025.kendo.pl/home.
Furthermore, the 32nd EIC will take place in Prague, Czech Republic from 7th-9th November 2025. More details of this event can be found here: https://www.eic2025.cz/.
South Africa has been represented twice at the European Jodo Championships. The first time being at the 2023 EJC in Magglingen, Switzerland, and the 2nd time at the 2024 EJC in Espoo, Finland. 2025 will be the 3rd time South Africa is represented at an EJC,
2025 will will be the first time that South Africa will be represented at the European Iaido Championship! With this debut, it will set a path for future South African iaidoka to follow!
Both the Jodo and Iaido members have been working hard for their forthcoming respective championships through a rigorous training. However, for some members of the team, their biggest challenge has yet to be overcome - the financial commitment to be able to participate.
Fundraising efforts have been initiated by the teams as well as the individual members to help ease the financial burden these championships will incur.
There have been some considerate members of the community who have offered to donate some funds towards the teams' fundraising efforts. Funds can be transferred to the account below. Please ensure you reference the deposit with, "EJC / EIC - (Your name)". If you wish you specify funds for either the EIC or EJC, please do so.

The Ryū Ken Chi (RKC) Dojo train the traditional Japanese martial arts of Kendo and Iaido (sword-based martial arts), as well as Jodo (the art of the short staff), that encourages the cultivation of the human character.
Kendo Kid is also available for children aged 6-13 years old.
RKC DOJO has 2 training venues within Johannesburg - RIVONIA and OBSERVATORY.
