RKC Dojo's 10-Year Anniversary Gala

2 February 2015 was the 1st official training session of the-then-named, RIVONIA KENDO CLUB! Over the years, we have evolved, grown, and adapted to become the RYU KEN CHI DOJO! With over 60 members who practice the 4 offerings of Kendo, Kendo Kids, Iaido, and Jodo, we have become the largest dojo in South Africa.
On 6 September 2025, we will host our 10-year dojo celebration gala! Bedsides the celebration, it will also be a fundraiser for an exciting new initiative that we will announce at the event!
There will be food, entertainment, speeches to be heard, and prizes to be won!
The details are as follows:
DATE: 6 September 2025 (Saturday)
TIME: 5:30pm- 11pm
ADDRESS: German Country Club, 131 Holkam Rd, Paulshof, Sandton, 2056
COST:
R450 per person (adult)
R260 per child from ages 6-11 years old
FREE for children under 5 years old
* RKC DOJO MEMBERS will receive a 20% discount off ticket prices.
** RKC DOJO MEMBERS' FAMILY MEMBERS will receive a 10% discount off ticket prices
PROGRAM:
5:30pm - Guest arrive and enjoy a complimentary welcome drink; take photos at the photobooth
6:00pm - Guests to be seated
6:15pm - Welcome + 1st Set of Speeches + 1st set of entertainment
7:15pm - Dinner is served!
8:15pm - 2nd Set of Speeches + 2nd set of entertainment
9:00pm - Party on the dance floor!
10:30pm - Final Rounds
11:00pm - End

Smart Casual with a touch of GOLD!

1) Vegetarian meals available. Kindly indicate on the registration form
2) Seating will be unreserved. First come, first serve.

Logan NAIDOO, Entrepreneur and the longest dojo member at the RKC Dojo, will be one of the speakers at our forthcoming 10-year Dojo Anniversary Gala!
Logan will give us some of the lessons he has learned in the dojo that he has applied to his entrepreneurial journey!

The Ryū Ken Chi (RKC) Dojo train the traditional Japanese martial arts of Kendo and Iaido (sword-based martial arts), as well as Jodo (the art of the short staff), that encourages the cultivation of the human character.
