As from 28 June 2021, South Africa will go back into lockdown level 4 for at least another 14 days.
Infection rates are up and our health care systems are taking strain.
With this lockdown, all social gatherings are prohibited, implying that the RKC in-dojo (at the venue) session will have to stop for now.
Our dojo doors will close, but we'll continue to train online together.
Our online classes have been running successfully since the hard lockdown In March 2020, so the online training environment is not unfamiliar to us.
As martial artists, we understand that regardless whether we are in the dojo or not, training must continue. This consistent practise is what will cultivate the attribute of DISCIPLINE.
Our temporary schedule for training from 28 June to 16 July 2021 is as follows:
Our online schedule consists of our regular online session, PLUS, new online sessions that now replace some timeslots that we would have trained at the dojo.
Please note that the Saturday online session (8-9am) , "RKC Fitness Session" is for ALL RKC members as it will be a general fitness and mobility session.
Then, we also have a 9-10am session entitled, "Online Discussion Surprise", which is open to our RKC members and we will discuss various topics related to Kendo, Iaido or Jodo!
The intention of these 2 Saturday online sessions is to encourage our members to still keep this time available for training, as it would be very easy to replace the time slots with some other activities. This would make it very difficult to get back into the normal training routine again when we revert to the lower levels of lockdown and can train in the dojo again.
In conclusion, we continue to train dilligently.
